For Constipation? Call a vet or local farm store and get the correct dosage and then see if she will take it, you may need to get a feeding syringe to get it in her.
If it is for topical problems yes it would be perfectly fine.
You should always provide a mineral salt block anyway AND if she is having trouble relieveing herself, you may want to call the vet and see what he or she suggests so then you do not cause more problems.
May be the feed, the natural things she is eating or some physical problem that must be taken care of.
Good Luck!

I wouldn't give epsom salt in feed but if you're looking to feed just salt then any regular one from the grocery store should work I think, just ask a vet first. I know some horses go a little crazy with the salt blook if you free feed it. Also, you can get crushed saltblocks (basicly) and feed that, that way the horse gets minerals as well. Personally though, I would reccomend getting a salt block. You can get them with or without minerals if you don't want to pay for that. Just be sure it's in a DRY place or you'll loose your block real fast.

for what? in the place of a salt block? salt blocks aren't that exspensive. 2-5 $. you can give her a bit of seasoning salt. just let her lick it out of your hand. they like that. or at least my horse does. i doubt epsom is good for her. it's really to use hot water and stir epsom salt in to soak there hooves. it makes them strong and takes away soreness. and makes there hooves grow faster when you soak them. i soaked my mares foot in it when she stepped on a nail. it didn't get an infection and healed nicely.

There is no need to add epsom salt to her diet, unless a vet has said otherwise. If you put a mineral lick in her stable or field, she can use it if she feels necessary.

why do you want to give it to her? If its to increase her salt intake - buy a mineral lick - or salt lick - that way she can take it as needed. If its to flush out her system - consult your vet before giving it to her.
many horseowners think they should give horses salt as part of their diet - DONT. You can cause more harm than good by doint this - this is specifically why salt licks were invented - the horse knows the amount the need themselves and will lick it accordingly.

Listen to "newsgirl". Get a salt block or a mineral block for free choice. If you insist on forcing salt down your horses throat or if you horse disregards the salt or mineral block, feed electrolytes. Consult your vet first any time you change or modify a horse's feed.

If you think you're horse is constipated seek veterinary advice, if it's because you want a cheap alternative to a salt block/lick, don't! And if you think you're horse is lacking electrolytes buy a supplement or contact you're vet...

It will act like a laxitive so not really.
You should get a plain or mineralized salt block and leave it for her she can get to it anytime she wants salt.

Why would you want to? It's SALT! Get her a salt lick and let her decide how much she needs.
