....and rely on answers from total strangers regarding medical questions when they should just call their freakin doctor?

Hmmm...would you rather save $70 or live? Not too hard of a decision there.

And second to you EUCHREMOTHER - I am a FREAKIN woman, I'm using my boyfriends account because I dont have one. I found your comments very rude and unneccessary. Regardless of sex, asking total strangers for advice on your body (even if it is what you call "specific hormonal changes", you acted like you were talking to a little child thinking I was a man there) when it should be asked by a medical professional is playing with fire. So get off your sexist high-horse "ohhh, youre not welcome here"...get over it, its an open forum.

And TIREBITER - How many more times would you like me to say this IS a woman?!?! But since youre so slow, I'll say it again, I AM ON MY BOYFRIENDS ACCOUNT.

Quit assuming, quit being sexist, and answer the question.

Maybe some people don't have doctors or medical insurance so they do the best they can with what they have.

In case you hadn't noticed this particular section is "WOMEN'S HEALTH" are you a Woman? First of all women have specific hormonal challenges that men do not face. It usually starts at puberty and goes right through to menopause. There is an entire montage of symptoms; changes and risks that a woman's health faces in her lifetime. So to answer your stupid FREAKIN question, women like to share their issues; it provides hope and some peace of mind, not to mention a little bit of ammunition when going to doctors that, most of the time don't have the answers either. NOW GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS AREA, YOU'RE NOT WELCOME!

Oh my god! What an angry person you are! Do you think that we all have crystal balls and would know that you are a woman, (and a poor one at that), coming into an area for women using her boyfriends email...you've got a lot of nerve lashing back. I think you may want to speak with a psychologist and perhaps reconsider coming onto this site. Besides, I don't believe you are a woman (in a true sense of the word), I'm guessing that you are a teenager and a very hormonally unbalanced one. Women are tired of not getting answers from their doctors and look to each other for comfort, they're not stupid (as you seem to be) as they recognize that the people answering on this site are not always professional. Take your anger and ignorance read a goddamn book, educate yourself and don't bother people with stupidity. Oh yes, by the way, each of these women have answered your question, but I think that you are too f***** up to understand.

Because I am stuck with a doctor who has no clue what she is doing for me and I have not been able to find another one that is any better. My doctor has told me twice that something was not an issue and both times I had to have minor surgery in a clinic. She also knows I have a latex allergy and still goes to put the latex gloves on. I suspect that some people on here would be more helpful.

I haven't quite figured that one out. People ask a lot of questions that a simple Internet search would answer. I think a lot of times people just want to hear what others have to say about the problem or issue.

Maybe it's a little less embarrassing to ask strangers about that burning sensation than your doctor who knows you and your family.

I don't know. I tell people that they should go see a doc, but then they just pick some random person's answer as the best when shaky 'medical' advice is handed out. It's why I'm hardly ever here any more.

Well if they're American maybe they don't have insurance, or want to pay to see their doctor if it's something other people may know about- if you get 30 answers saying the same thing you could probably trust that. Also, if they're really worried and stressed and waiting for an appt with the doctor- they may want some immediate comfort.

In case someone else has had the same symptoms so that they know if it's serious or not before they go. Some people don't like to visit the doctor and want to prepare themselves mentally before they go.

I think people come to hear other people's opinions, it's alot more reassuring to know that you're not the only person who has had to deal with something. Hearing advice from other people makes others feel good, not alone, and comforted. It's nice hearing information from regular people like us.
