I really like the idea of the larger models with more features. Where you can choose from different play lists and folders and see what music options you have. So, I could say have a jazz playlist set up and a rock playlist set up too, etc...
It would probably be used just for music. Maybe viewing photos, but that would just be a bonus.
I would like a player that will be comfortable when working out/running.
Also, one with software that is not too complicated.
I have been hearing alot about the different creative lab mp3's lately.
Any advice???????
Please??????
Thank You!!
PS. what is an mp4 player?

iPod’s are the best and very easy to use.
An Mp4 player is amongst the latest gadgets available in the electronic market. This is in keeping with the upgraded version of Mp3 to Mp4. Mp4 is fundamentally the global file extension for the official container format defined in the MPEG-4 standard (ISO 14496-14). This is streamable and supports all kinds of multimedia content and advanced content like 2D and 3D animated graphics, etc.

Creative players are my favorite MP3 players by far, and they make the Soundblaster soundcards so I trust them more for quality. They are easy to use, and you don't need to use a special way to get music such as that crap iTunes.
You could pay me to have an iPod, but I would sell it ASAP, don't like how limited they are and cannot stand iTunes or anything like it.
IRiver and Sandisk have good players, better than iPod.
As for comfort... That all depends on what you use to listen with. I wear the earbuds that came with my Creative MP3 player thru 8+ hours of work, I usually forget about them being in my ears. Many people go out and buy more expensive, more comfortable ones, there are some twist to fit varieties for example.

ipods are the new very popular hip mp3 players, they do just about anything from saving information, displaying pictures and videos, and outputting great quility music. Ipods are very durable, you can definetly use it when working out. the only down side is that they cost a lot a money. If your looking into other mp3 players, ive heard they are not too bad but just check out the ratings on cnet.com. Dont buy the iriver
hope this helps

Not sure of the particulars of mp4, but go to the link to get some fundamentals on the "mp" technology and I'm sure you'll get the point.
Selecting a player is a personal choice.
I prefer the iPod but that might not be what you need or want.
Go shopping at your favorite electronics store and try before you buy.

I suggest the ipod mini, it's relatively cheap at $100 or less and holds over 1000 songs. An mp4 player is something that plays video and usually also plays audio.
