I believe the 1000+ page book touches on a broad range of topics with the first 300-odd pages devoted to math. I can handle a certain amount of math (graduate engineer level) but not if it becomes too advanced.
I would also like to know if Penrose writes in an easy style for the layman.
Furthermore can someone please direct me to a good intro on the net to string theory and its applications?
Thanks
