They're part of the do nothing congress that has plagued this country for far to long....hey they can't even get their social agendas though and they've controlled both houses and the white house for how long???

Welfare works in some instances. As a product of 'kindergarten supplementation' - or subsidized early childhood programs, I grew up and thrived. My father died in a car accident when I was three and we had 5 children to take care of. Women didn't work back then but my Mother instantly had to find work to take care of us. 8 years later my oldest brother dove into a lake and became a quadripalegic. Stuff happens my Dem and Rep friends and that's what it's there for. Not for an eternal subsidy but to help people over to the other side. I have a great life now - earn six figures and am a contributing tax payer. It's dangerous to focus on the 'tactical' without looking at the 'strategic' position down the road. If people believe that gay marriage is wrong, they don't need a federal gov't to reinforce it. Most companies already have domestic partner benefits so what's the real net-net impact anyway?

I live in michigan and the republicans have already tried to get rid of welfare but governer granholm vetod it so we still have it. She also raised the minimum wage here to 7.25 an hour. Thank god for the democrats if it werent for them the little guys would be in a lot more trouble. Realy I have never voted for a republican and I never will. After what you have seen George W Bush do to this country you shouldnt want to vote republican either unless you like paying 4$ a gallon on gas and not having any money to pay youre bills then by all means go for it but I know what I will vote for and it wont be a republican. Not that it matters if the republicans lose they will just cheat as history shows.

THOSE issues are to just side track you from finding out what they realy do .
LiKe support saddam and binladen ,well not anymore .but we use to . check into who is getting our money and which nations we are sending jobs to and find out what republicans and democrats have been up to. .IF you are poor it is the governments fault not yours .
YOU work hard and they take it away from you and give it to the rich in the form of building roads and power plants and small community's that will support a ford truck plant in mexico ,a copper mine in chile ,a phosphate mine in the south pacific islands and so many others i can not begin to list them all . the rich have gotten to the point that they need americans who can manage others around the globe .THIS means college and finacial degree's what they forgot to tell them all is that people are greedy by nature and commiting crime is easy if you know how to do the paper work ..A migrant farmer does not starve in a field full of food .BUT he does get sick and need medical treatment .THATS the big reason why they are forcing the immagrant issue and affraid of socialized medicine .
THERE is no such thing as welfare it should be called returning to the people what is there's program .
I can not walk down the street and pick oranges unless i want to go to jail .I can not fish without a license and must pay for it with cash not fish .So i am force to work .THIS is slavery I must earn cash to pay property taxes or lose the land i hunt and fish on and in most states they have the rights over my lake and property . I can not drain my spring fed lake to irrigate my land except under stringent state regulation .FUNNY i thought i was free . Guess again .AS long as we have big brother controling our lives we are slaves .
NO welfare can exist in a slave nation like america .It is rightfully called responcible equipment and resource maintainence.
WE all deserve to eat and have our medical needs met period .

Well they did pass and sign the Welfare reform bill last week. But it still has provisions for Corporations that need Government help.
The big trick in this was the ACLU and Supreme Court deciding that Corporations were entities with rights of citizenship. That opened the doors of Corporate Welfare.
That pesky ACLU is always standing up for Business rights.

if they do stop all welfare and stop all abortion and stop gay marriages then this land wont be called 'the land of the free'.
but my opinion is that they should stop abortion and they should stop gay marriages. and they should cut down on welfare. i still think some people do need welfare for serious reasons. but a lot of them work for cash and make more money then i do.
i dont know who to vote for.

welfare will never go away-not as long as there are people who are making money off of the system-same goes for abortion. this country is being run by those who feed off of the poor, either by taking money out of their pockets or out of ours! The only way to rid the world of this desease is to take control ourselves! too many people out there are looking for a handout-and believe they deserve it! we need to stop wasting our money on them! ....and when they start comming through our windows-then we need to stop them for good!

Welfare is not a bleeding-heart Liberal program. It is a common sense program. If we do not care for the disadvantaged. They
will be climbing in your windows, to get what they need. Think about it!
