Jaan is a word used in different manners.

In Punjabi Jaan refers to sexual drive, strength/power courage and valor. A term commonly associated with the Indo-Aryan Jatt of the subcontinent.

In Hindi Jaan refers to the meaning of life or love; also a term of affection meaning "darling".
