I did marry young but I am now divorced and going to remarry next year. I got that question alot when I was married. Curious on others opinion because alot of people seem to hate marriage anymore.

well, I don't think about marriage like that. I am married and I'm 21, married for almost 3 months, I didn't marry my husband because I was pregnant, I married him because I love him dearly.

Not really. The divorce rate is so high that people have grown pessimistic.
If possible, marrying young isnt recommended. Theres just so much to experience in life that a young person is unaware of. But that doesnt mean getting married young cant work. I married at 20 and its been 18 years. But I also wasnt very sheltered either (to put it nicely).

I do. But I think that must people have had bad experience on that subject.

Many people thinks that if you want to get married and it is supposed to be for life (more than religious matter is because divorces are hard on every subject), you must be MATURE to take the desicion and do it in love, but with your mind clear and knowing what are you getting into.

For me is not "young" love, but "mature" love. Some people can be 60 and never be mature. Some can at 17. The only ones that can tell are the actual couple

Not really. Young love is based mostly on over zealous hormones and wild infatuation. Love takes time and usually young love doesnt give it that time. Young people want everything right now. Here is an idea. If you have a lover or soon to be lover try spending time away from one another. I know it sound stupid and hard but remember if you truely love something set it free, if it comes back its yours if not it was never yours to begin with . Good luck.

yeah...but the thing is that they've been young and in love before and they know how that particular sitatuation usually turns out. I'm not saying your situation isn't different, it's just that most people don't think about the exception, but the rule.

I say don't worry about what people's opinions are. Just live your life and make the best decisions for you. If folks can't deal with it, that's their issue not yours.

People assume that because many times it probably *is* true. I don't think it's that terribly common for people to marry very young anymore - and something that's uncommon usually attracts attention and demands explanation.

that is usually the case. Most young people don't find the one they want to marry that early in life.

I think many people think negatively about young people in general, which is aggravating (I'm young myself!). I don't think there's anything wrong with it. My parents were married young and are still together 26 years later!

Good luck!

Personally I think that people don't believe in any type of love anymore. It's sad but true. Personally I believed in young love once but I let it slip through my fingers . Now he's gone and I can never tell him that I loved him. Congrats to you for following your heart! God Bless and take care.

Not anymore :) Too many divorces have jaded people's outlook about love :(
