Hi..how about whatever the person invited to the party wears what they had on at the time they received the invite. Vicars and tarts always popular, characters from films, tv programmes etc or favourite character from a book or maybe just a colour theme, ie everyone wears red or blue etc. Have a nice party.

How about a pirate wench?? Oh, then you could wear all of those layers in the skirt and the tiny little leather corset over the blouse. Very fancy!

Whatever you do make sure everyone makes their own outfit.
Just been to a holywood party and most people had amazing costumes but they had hired them from a theatrical/costume store - this takes all the fun out of it - and makes it pricey for those who can't afford to spend a fortune on just one night. Then it's all about who spent the most money from the best store.

Vintage! Haha. Get one that looks like the 70's, 80's, 50's or 60's....like with polka dots and big sleeves, and a big skirt part. Get cool shoes that look sorta old or such, and put your hair up in a style that looks 60's....sorta part your hair and take one part of your hair and clip it to the side or something.

Depends on how old you are. I went to a great '80s school disco' style party and it was brilliant everyone turned up in really dated school uniforms and hairstyles that were once considered quite cool.

What about everyone has to dress up as someone they know who's at the party - of the opposite sex?
