The larger picture? We have f*cked up the whole Middle East and made it worse! This had NOTHING to do with the War on Terrorism!

It has nothing to do with factual accuracy, or whether it can be proven true or not. Such is the nature of delusion and denial.

You're right, your stats on Iraq are true. However, the decision to go into Iraq was a good one. At what point was Saddam going to be held accountable? The UN wasn't going to do it. Oil-for-food was a mockery. Maybe Saddam had WMDs, maybe he didn't. That's not the point right now. The point is, is that Saddam acted like he had WMDs by not cooperating. Its like a child telling his parents that his room is clean, but then telling then that they aren't allowed to check in the closet.
Iraq didn't have anything to do with 9/11. Fine, it can still be part of the War on Terror. Saddam paid the families of Palestinian suicide bombers thousands of dollars. He allowed Zarqawi to have training camps in Iraq. Sounds like links to terror to me. Also, there are many terrorists now in Iraq fighting the US. I'm not talking about all insurgents, but those coming from Egypt, Iran, Syria, etc.
Yes, women and children have died. It is a sad fact of war, but most of those are not the result of US military action, but rather the action of terrorists. There maybe "freedom fighters" in Iraq, but those who target civilians are terrorists.
Yes 2600 military members have been killed. Did you really expect to enter Iraq and change its government and only lose 20 people? Military casualties, like civilian, are a fact of war.
When Iraq becomes stable (its military is getting close to being able to act independent of US forces and 1 unit already is), we will have another ally in the Mideast.
