5y^2-y-3x^2. I think DPST10 forgot that the y in the first bracket is not a base to the power of two.

(3x^2-y)+(5y^2-6x^2)?

Remove the parenthesis, and then combine like terms:
3x^2-y + 5y^2-6x^2
- 3x^2 - y + 5y^2
