If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then you're probably American.

If you laughed scornfully, then you're also American.

If you laughed gleefully, then you're British, Canadian, or Australian

If you laughed really hard, then you need psychiatric help.

For the record, I'm an American who finds the very notion absurdly laughable.

Ah, I had not considered the Russian variety. I am referring to the British version.

"I was under the impression that the Commonwealth was created so that the Europeans could have the kind of resources we have here in America"

I think you might be confusing the Commonwealth of Nations with the European Union. The Commonwealth is a union of current and former British colonies and protectorates.

"Euro-Americans are still suffering from the identity crisis caused by the release of Broke Back Mountain and thus such a venture would cause the further erosion of the number of cowboy hats worn within the U.S."

I'm not sure what the heck you're talking about, but you definitely get points for the most amusing response.

I can not post the many colorful metaphors that precede "...NO!!!" Moreover I must ask "Why?" I was under the impression that the Commonwealth was created so that the Europeans could have the kind of resources we have here in America; with the exception of America's many small, third world, Indigenous Nations. It's good for Europe economically but it seams to threaten each individual culture's identity. Euro-Americans are still suffering from the identity crisis caused
by the release of Broke Back Mountain and thus such a venture would cause the further erosion of the number of cowboy hats worn within the U.S. Moreover, this would reduce the production of the much needed new Buffalo Nickles; which are needed to replace the old Buffalo Nickles, often seen adorning Traditional Native Regalia at pow wows, which are now in short supply.

I am American Indian and therefore I just gave this question a funny look.

You're either talking about the Commonwealth of Nations, which is Britain's answer to the Second British Empire, or the Commonwealth of Independent States, which is Russia's answer to the First (succesful) Russian Empire.

I laugh scornfully. But I'm not American, I'm Irish.
Seriously though I don't think America would benefit.
I've no doubt the Commonwealth itself would benefit immensely.

Why would you? You fought very hard for independence from Great Britain. Why join now? What would be the point?

Actually, i think the commonwealth has joined us.

This is somewhat of a irrelevant question. And not appliciable...I laughed but not at the question, but at you.
