I used the nicotine patches to quit smoking.I was really surprised at how much they helped. Actually, while i was at work and busy i did'nt even think about smoking. I also tried the nicotine gum, and while it was a small amount of physical/oral satisfaction. It did'nt last or work as well as the patches. Plus, the gum is more expensive than the patches. And i did'nt like the upset stomach and going around all day with a wad of gum in my mouth.

You should capitolize on this wonderful opportunity to quit. It doesn't do ANYTHING positive for you. It cost alot of money, make you smell bad, ruins your taste, stinks up your house and car--not to mention the effects on your body and health, and anyone you are around. This new job will hopefully give the the motivation to quit. I hope you can do it as smoking is not at all popular with most people. Some think it demonstrates a weakness or stubborness in a person to continue to do something that so obviously is dangerous. Good luck--make it happen!

It is not recommended to use stop smoking aids while you continue to smoke. If you are going to use them then you should give quitting a 100% shot. It's hard I know. I have quit and started again SOOO many times. I have used the gum ..but anything works if you want it too.

well, if you like the job and think your health and this job is worth it then just quit i know its easier said then done but you will feel so much better in the long run. when you take a break or whatever then simply find somthing that you like to do that will relax you. i dont know why you cant smoke at work tho it is kinda a right even if you have to go walk out to the street and smoke or get in your car or something.i donno but my suggestion is just to chew gum it dont ahve to be niccotine gum just gum in general and if you are going to be chewing it alot then try a good suger free gum so it dont rot your teeth

well nicotine patches seem to be better than the gum in reducing withdrawal, so try those , and yes its a great opportunity to quit altogether

To feel better i suggest nicotine gums. They help, and secondly think about quitting. Now would be a good time.

THANK GOD. As a long time sufferer of ASTHMA related to SECOND HAND SMOKE (thank you so much) I am relieved that people do not have to suffer the ills of second hand smoke.
This is a wakeup call for you to quit. Smoking that is. Your withdrawal symptoms will go away in a few days. Your cravings will subside. I, however, have damaged lungs for life. Thanks.

Use it as an opportunity to quit. Since you won't have others around you who're smoking, there is no reason you can't do it. You will be SO glad you did!
