Last time we checked, Jesus said "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." That, and "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth." God, Earth, Peacemakers, the Meek. Little details like that. Apparently, W. doesn't read the Bible much. So why does he use the Bible to alienate people?

Bush said it because 1)he hasn't read any political philosophers and 2) he was going for that Christian vote.

His calculations were that there were enough americans who would eat up Bush's hateful 'religious' poses so that he could alienate everyone else. Of course, the worm has turned. Cool thing about his hateful behavior - more and more people are reading the ancient texts and learning that, while they are pretty cool, they are certainly not the word of 'god,' but of men and women.

DUH-bya is confused, he doesn't know what the hell is going on, too much alcohol and coke I guess. He uses the bible to prey on weak minded religious people who blindly follow, hence the Red state phenomenon.

GW Bush is a lowest common denominator speaker; he has a limited vocabulary and honestly probably believes he's a good representative of the christian ethic. The fact is, in a religion where one's actions can be exactly contrary to one's faith and still be absolved at any time, he's probably very comfortable taking actions contrary to his own teachings. What's he got to lose by doing wrong? Not a thing.

As I recall, he didn't say He was his favorite political philosopher, only that He was his favorite philosopher. I think he said that because he was asked by a reporter and couldn't think of any other answer offhand.

I could never understand why Bush keeps calling himself a Christian if he doesn't have the slightest respect for any of the 10 amendments.

If you have really read the Bible you would see that throughout the old Testament war was regularly endorsed by religion.
He does believe in his faith and what he is doing. He also really does believe that Saddam and terrorist etc were very dangerous and that when confronted with the terrible things they are doing he felt the need to do something about it.
It is important to stand up for what you believe in!
If someone does not do something soon we would all be forced to convert to Islam. Bush is not forcing you to pray believe me, the Muslims would.

GB doesn't have the faintest clue what he's saying, when he's saying it or why his mouth is moving. He is probably more dangerous than the terrorists that he's been "chasing" since 9/11. No respect for him here at all.
