I know you can physically put your old hard drive into your new computer. Then you have all your documents. I am not a computer guru but you can also make a LAN connection between the 2 computers and send them to a shared folder.
As for finding a file, If you remember what you called the letters when you saved them you can just use the search option. Click start, search and then documents.

The easiest way to move your desktop over is to open Windows Explorer and go to your profile. Then you can copy your desktop from the old PC and move it to the new PC. If you have both PCs on a local network at home, you can share your C drive and find your profile on the old PC from the new PC and then just click and drag the entire profile over to the new PC. If you don't have it on a network, you can connect the two using a USB cable or via a single ethernet cable between the two PCs. Also, you can copy your profile to a CD and then transfer to your new PC. Finally, you can actually remove the hard disk drive from your PC. Change the jumper on the back of the drive from Master to Slave and then add it to the ribbon from the controller to your hard drive on the new PC. Then you will be able to see the drive from your old PC with a new drive letter designation on the new PC and you can drag and drop anything from the old drive to the new drive. The old drive should then be removed, OR, you can reformat the drive and continue to use it as additional hard drive space on the new PC if you don't have any plans for the old PC. If you do move the old hard drive back to the old PC, remember to reset the jumper from Slave back to Master. It should be listed on the surface of the PC as to which jumper settings are Master or Slave. Any one of these methods will work successfully. Just remember, you will be replacing your profile on the new PC if you copy the whole profile. You might want to just copy folders within the profile and not copy the whole profile over. You will be prompted that you are about to replace a folder and must confirm yes. Hope this helps!!!

You try to catch all your info in a USB flash memory, those are marvelous. Buy a 512 mb at any computer store, you pass all your info in some seconds and that's it!! to your new computer..
There are some way too complicated for no-experienced people like you.
Good luck!!

why dont you opt to network both computers so you can access them from both computers. I have no idea how to save history to another computer. You could try backing it up on a cd, then downloading that cd to to your new computer.
good luck.

I am in the process of this myself, I was told that there is a way to "piggyback" the old hard drive to the new to copy all your files and info. If you find out how, let me know.
