I have been TTC for about a 8 months now, after going to the doctors and having test done. (all test turned out fine for hubby and I) My doctor suggested that I start checking my CM the day after my period ends. I have been doing this now for 2 months. But its hard for me to figure out if the mucus is my hubbys sperm or if it is my CM. I shower shortly after sex (about a 30 hour later, to give time for the sperm to get to the egg) hoping that will clean everything out so i could tell the differeence. How can I tell the difference? Are their any tricks to this? I had my AF from Aug 14th to the 21st. My periods are irregular a lot but lately my cycle has been about every 32 days. I have had sex from the day before my period ended & every other day since. Do you think I ovulated yet? Or will I sometime this weekend? Can you please try to answer all my questions.

just for adive for the person who responded 2 to my question. You don't know what you are talking about. You can check your own cervix with your fingers moroan. I have papers all about it from the doctor and look it up on the internet you can check it. I already have one child and am having problems concieving our 2nd. I am 28 yrs old, graduataed from college. I don't need attention just some questions to be answered. I think u are the one with too much time on your hands. why don't u stop answering questions you know nothing about!

first of all that so called clinician is an idiot hon. The cervix can be checked by putting two fingers in the vagina and to feel if its at its highest or lowest point. If its soft and highyr fertile if its low and hard u can touch it w yr fingertips yr infertile. Also try checking yr cm before u actually start sex so u can c . coupling yr cervical position along with the excretions helps. big hugz blessed be.

You should invest in a book that describes in detail the checking of the cervical mucus. Ovulating mucus is stretchy and elastic...I don't think that sperm is. So, if you are getting something that is stretchy and elastic you can be pretty confident that it is the mucus. To go into much more detail about checking the mucus would be to rewrite what so many others have written much better and more thoroughly about in books. If you are ovulating in the middle of your cycle then it should be any time now...but that's the tricky part about ovulation especially with irregular cycles. Anything one of us might say is the answer is only a guess. It's the charting of the mucus and trying to find a pattern that will really give you an answer. Otherwise, you can buy a speculum (the tool the OB/GYN uses to open you up in a pelvic exam), a mirror, and a flashlight to look at your cervical opening (the os) to see just when it opens and closes. Good luck.

Yea! to the asker for addressing the fact that answerer #2 doesn't know what they are talking about...clinical experience or not.

go to yahoo and enter in "ovulation calculator". There's a lot of sites out there that can calculate when you should be ovulating. I myself am TTC... This is a GREAT webite to go to.. they have a lot of cool stuff... Best Wishes!!!

it is reccomended to not check cm after sex, but to check first thing in the morning.
