Well I am 17 years old..yeah yeah yeah I've already heard all the "your too young" crap. My dad died. the check is a disability check .$1,000 and it is split in half between me and my 12 year old brother. I want to know if the checks will stop when I get married

If you are receiving your SSDI based on your father's earnings, your benefits will end if you marry. Normally your benefits will end when you turn 18; 22 if you are in school.

I think they will stop when you reach 21 unless your in college and then until 23, no longer than that. Go to the Social Security web site; you'll find the answers to your questions there.

it depends on what plan he was set up for. but most of them stop when you turn 18 or 21 if you are in college in some states. after 18 you are considered a adult and can take care of yourself.and parents are no longer responsible for you.
