but have you ever considered this? it's a sales assistant's job to be pushy. for all you know, you may have irritated the heck out of the sales assistant for not giving her/him the chance to do the job. my tip is to just tell them flat out that 'you are just looking', that you'd call them if you find anything interesting or you need help :)

Bad grammar really annoys me.
Pushy sales tactics is a good one too. Phone salesmen who won't give up, and just keep talking until you hang up.
Pointless questions on yahoo answers annoy me. And I was going to say this one was one based on the title question! But when I read your additional info I thought it was a good question.

People who dawdle down a busy pavement and walk side by side in their family of four with a push chair.
Door to door sales people who barge in as soon as you open the door and start talking before you can even say i am not interested.
People who phone and dont even give you a chance to say hello, and on top of it all they dont introduce themselves, they just waffle on and i end up say "excuse me who are you and what is the name of your company."

People who can't use apostrophes correctly. For example, a local flower seller has a notice up that says "3 bunch's for £6". That one was a new mis-use of the apostrophe for me, and I'd de-face the poster if it wasn't protected by plastic.

Yeah I agree. Also street charity workers or street sellers. Why can't I go shopping or walk down a town centre anymore without trying to avoid these parasites!
