I am stumped! We have had a really tough year. I got really sick and was in and out of the hospital for 6 of the 12 months we have been married. I had to quit my job because of this so we are now on a tight budget. I really want to do something special for him but dont have alot of funds. Any Ideas?

It sounds like you love your husband very much. He is a lucky man to be so loved. You can show him how much you love him. Do something which you wouldn't normally do but you know he really likes. Do like the others suggested and cook him a special dinner, follow up with something you know is a fantacy of his, like a strip tease or some such thing. If he likes sports and you don't then watch a game with him and get involved with it. Do something he really likes but you don't care much for. When we do an activity with our spouses that they know we really don't like they know we love them. To do something just because HE likes it is showing how special he is. On days it is not your anniversary,, find ways to praise him often. Tell him in small ways how proud you are of him and how happy you are he is your husband. Men need encouragement just the same as women do. We shouldn't wait just for a special moment to do special things. By doing small speciall things on a daily basis, we communicate how important our spouses are to us and how much we love them, are proud of who they are as men.

Even though you had a difficult first year, you obviously love your husband. You are not selfish and sound mature. He is lucky to have you and I bet he is a great husband to you too. Keep up the good work of nurturing your marriage. I wish you the very best anniversary and a less stress filled second year. Blessed Be.

Cook a nice meal, candlelight and soft music. Put on something cute and sexy. Serve him in your outfit! Make him a nice card or buy one. Then move on to the living room with a blanket on the floor, candles around you and have a nice connection. IF you wanted to you could add a video camera to the mix and video tape your evening, he would love it!
