to ALL basketball fans out there...

Please, don't EVER use the term "Dream Team" again...

There ARE no more dream teams...there was only one... in 1992...that was it, there ain't no more..

* Charles Barkley
* Larry Bird
* Clyde Drexler
* Patrick Ewing
* Magic Johnson
* Michael Jordan
* Karl Malone
* Chris Mullin
* Scottie Pippen
* David Robinson
* John Stockton

(plus a certain college player, who shall remain nameless, and who's presence on this team was an absolute joke).

THIS is what a "Dream Team" is SUPPOSED to do:

Results at the 1992 Tournament of the Americas in Portland
* USA 136 Cuba 57
* USA 105 Canada 61
* USA 112 Panama 52
* USA 128 Argentina 87
* USA 119 Puerto Rico 81
* USA 120 Venezuela 80

Results at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona
* USA 111 France 71 (Pre-Olympics in Monte Carlo, Monaco)
* USA 116 Angola 48
* USA 103 Croatia 70
* USA 111 Germany 68
* USA 127 Brazil 83
* USA 122 Spain 81
* USA 115 Puerto Rico 77
* USA 127 Lithuania 76
* USA 117 Croatia 85

Read those scores again.

I still can't belive that the US team lose.
I wake up in the morning EARLY to see the US win but I saw a ...........................................
If I sleeped would be better
beliving the old greek story easier than beliving this
does it rally happend or it's nightmare ?
how it could be?
I didn't watch the other game. who won arg or spa ? I don't CARE.
don't be happy so much just wait the olympics when Kobe, paul pierce, amare stoudmire chancey billubs AND J.J redick will be back then it will be one other thing?
I bet for my life that USA will win the olympics gold medal
just 2 years!!!!!!!!!!
chance have an end
it was not the usa who lose it was that team that lose.
the best players watched the game from their home on TV
not like the best greek players who played their game and also the soul of those players were injury
if rasheed wallace, ben wallace, jemaine o'neal, or shaquille were their it would changes

That's right the dream team is no more. I mean MJ, Magic, Bird, Barkley, and Pippin. Crazy! I agree with you, that the greeks must play with their soul, but the Americans play from their pocketbook. Sad, Sad! No wonder we lost.

What I saw today was;

Greece; very disciplined and a serious team with very talented players who put their hearts to the game.

They were amazing and I supported them to the end. Basketball is a great game and today Greece showed the best of it. Congrats to the neighbor.

Congrats to Greece!! Good for you guys! I am kind of glad it happened! It proves that the players in the NBA are not as great as they think they are! They have a lot to learn about what the WHOLE game of basketball is all about! Too many hot shot, "me" type players on the US team!

There was only one "Dream Team". That was in 1992. Now the NBA is made up of so many foreigners that world competitions have NBA players all over the place. Not to mention that most fo the NBA's very BEST players never play in world competition.

I put part of the blame on Mike. He should have pulled the reins on their over dependence on the 3 point shot several games ago. When you are not shooting well you go inside more.I have never believed in that foolishness to keep shooting until you make something. Ask the Dallas Mavericks about living by the 3 point shot and dying by it.

oh man iam not surprised, teams usa shooting was poor so was their defence i mean they blow a 12 point lead! i think this really came down to experience alot of the us team players are young up and coming stars, well tough luck next time.

I am happy for you. Truly, because here in America, we don't really care about it. For you, it IS a big deal. Our players are spoiled and rich and have everything already. I liked it better when we had amateur players and it was the highlight of their lives.
Also, makes more interesting talk when we lose.
Good luck in the gold medal game!
