it takes 25 seconds to tranfer 143mb from my usb2 camrea.
is this speed usb2 or usb1?
my computer has usb2 but it might not be working right as i keep getting a message from windows that my "device could work fast with usb2"

it should say on it but usb 1 has two speeds
1.5 Mb/sec (bits not bytes)
12Mb/sec
its really slow
Its probably USB 2.0
480Mb/sec

You need the drivers for USB 2.0 for you motherboard. Go to your manufacturer's website and download them.

you might want to check your cables for USB2 or USB1. There's a difference in line speed in each type of cable.
