Look at what has been produced the last couple of years. Very few films stand out. This year has been particularly bad. OK, Pirates was a cute film and fun.
Is it all about gadgets and techology now? What about the plot and the actors, where have they gone?

Only in that they cater to the general public.

Hollywood is a business and like all other businesses they take cues from the marketplace. If something sells, then they make a lot of the same. If it doesn't sell then they stop making things like it.

I haven't rented a movie or gone to the movies in a long time...You wanna know why? Well, its because they keep making the same movies over and over. Batman, Batman Returns, Batman and Joker, Catwoman. Dukes of Hazard, Omen, Mission Impossible 1/2/3, Dirty Dancing Havana Nights, and so on....They have made a lot of movies that are all remakes of another movie or sequels. Its boring and a waste of money. Plus I love a movie that can make me laugh almost all the way threw. I haven't found many like that. All the t.v. shows are the same now too.

Definately. It's all about getting the "best looking guy" and the "best looking girl" together in a flick to be the "best looking couple" and half the time they aren't even that "good looking" to begin with. But, seriously, some movies are a waste of time. I actually did like Last Holiday though. That was a cute movie.

Yes. Most definitely.
Hollywood has run out of movie stars, the likes of Rita Hayworth, Bette Davis, Joan Fontaine, Susan Hayward, Greer Garson, Ingrid Bergman, to name a few.

your totally right these days scary movies aren't even that scary anymore they are more funnier thans scary, comedic films has lost its touch, action films i've lost interes its always the same story line, agirl was kidnapped and the guy has to recue her an evil monster is coming blah blah blah! iam sick of it so has romantic movies they've lost their touch as well i think this era of holywood is coming to an end. One thing is for sure they are not making those great films like they used to, now they're making
sequels, remakes.

Yes, look at Superman. They have a classic comic book character and change what he stands for. Truth, Justice and "All that other stuff"!

Truth, Just and the American Way. Superman is a time capsule, a period of history, he shouldn't have changed. They messed up big time.

Hollywood can still make a good film, but they fool themselves into thinking the public wants exploding cars and firefights

i know, things arn't made like they were before. Just like roller coasters, before even though they were wood, they were long 2 or 3 minute rides. Now they are like a few second, SUCK IT! And barbies. Back then they were detailed beautiful, and elegent. now they are ugly, and skan.ky and the clothes are cheep with velcrow when it used to be zippers. And music! before things had meaning, now it is trash
