I need to know how the education was like around The Borgia Family's time. This, like my other question about Giovanni borgia, is HARD to find. I can't find anything about education on the internet in the 1400's. PLEASE HELP!!

What part of the world?

In Europe, it was private tutors for children of the very rich. Apprenticeship, religious training, or nothing for most everyone else.

I love this quote from the site below: "The medieval student might learn that hyenas can change their sex at will and that an elephant's only fear is of dragons."

Gives new appreciation of the dialogue in Monty Python's "Holy Grail" ... "This new learning amazes me! Explain again how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes." ;-)

education was primarily a male domain and often limited to the church, therefore certain monks were educated, and of course the nobility but once again men only. the rest of the peasants were illiterate.
