Okay, I've been studying German for less than a year and I need some help..thanks..?

Question

If I want to say: 'Then I went home.' should I say: 'Dann gehe ich zu Hause.' or 'Dann gehe ich nach Hause.' and why?
And also if I want to say, e.g. 'Um 23 Uhr ich gehe schlafen.' or ' Um 23 Uhr gehe ich schlafen.' and why?

Nein. Dann ging ich nach Haus.
Your first version is in the present, the second in the future. You want the past. Then I WENT home.
Alpine Alli almost has it, but still has a ways to go ;-)
The sample she gives should be 'Dann BIN ich nach hause gegangen'.
And 'Um elf geh ich schlafen'.
People will write 23 but use the 12 hour NOT the 24 hour clock in everyday conversation.

Well, I have been studying German more than a year, but you might not want to trust me...

I'd say "Dann habe ich nach Hause gegangen" or "Dann ging ich nach Hause" because "gehe" is present tense. Since you said "went" I assume you're not at home now, therefore use "nach" for movement away from your current location. "Zu" if you are home now.

"Um 23 Uhr gehe ich schlafen" because the verb (usually) has to be in second position. "Um 23 Uhr" is the first position.
