The choices are Orlando or Kissimmee? Some people suggested that Kissimmee station was better but I am not sure why? Any opinons would be helpful. They are the same price (I am traveling from New England area), The only difference is the time of arrival which is only 1/2 hour difference. Any suggestions?

The Kissimmee station is about 4 miles closer. However I have never been to the Kissimmee station so I don't know how it is, but I have been to the Orlando station. The station in Orlando is in a rough area as most Amtrak stations are. However, Orlando has strict laws regarding transients and the homeless harassing people and I have not been to the Orlando station since these laws how come into affect.
I don't know what you are doing for transportation to Disney, but whatever station you choose I would stay inside the station and call mears transportation which offers cabs, buses, shuttles, and limos all over Orlando. I would not walk out of the station until mears arrives.

Either way, you would have to put up with traffic both ways. The Orlando station you would have to travel I-4 and the Kissimmee station would be 192. Depending on what time the train comes into the station is how I would make my decision. If it comes in mid day or late in the evening I would go to the Orlando one since I-4 may not be all that bad. Otherwise if it comes in around rush hour maybe the Kissimmee one. It is very tough, since both roads are not my favorites!! (however the construction on 192 is supposedly finished).

You will have a great vacation no matter what!

Kissimmee is closer to the main disney entrance then downtown orlando. but, I don't really know where the train stations are in either place.

I have never travelled by train, (sorry) but I am in New England myself. I am making my fourth trip to Disney in 2 weeks. I go without my husband because he won't fly.

If I might ask, how long is the trip going to take? and is the price less than flying?
Wish I could be more helpful with your question.
