I don't think there is anything to it meaning wise. I dream about my ex all the time and I have been with my fiance for four years. Usually in the dream, my ex (who I'm still close friends with) is my fiance. Eventually, I realize that I am disappointed about getting engaged to him. Then I remember that he is not really the one I chose, and I cannot wait to find my real fiance. But somehow, my ex always creeps into my dreams. I think it happens to a lot of people. He was just a big part of my life. I love him like family, but there is no LOVE LOVE for him anymore.

Are there any situations in your current life that remind you of how you were feeling when you were with your ex? Sometimes we relate things, and feelings to things that we have experienced in the past. Good or bad. A lot of times when you dream of people, it does not mean it is really about them, its a symbol of something or someone else.

When you dream its usually things in your subconcsious. Way back in that part of the brain we don't use all the time. It could mean you have been thinking about that person. Maybe he has been thinking about you. Any bad history? Sometimes we dream of bad past things when we feel worried or insecure. Try meditation. Clear your mind. Watch what you eat before you go to bed.

It may not mean anything, just something flashed back from the memory. If it means something, probably means that you are not content with your current relationship. and dreaming back of the good times with your ex will make you feel better subconsciously.

recurring dreams about the ex mean that, for whatever reason, you are unable to let go of him or something associated with him...just keep thinking on it and do what you need to do to get rid of the dreams to provide closure to that relationship.

perhaps you sense there is a few unresolved matters? i does not take it as a demonstration which you're in love with them or something. in keeping with risk you're in simple terms lacking them on your existence and can desire to reconnect.
