Why is it that men chose to not hear you, not care, pretend that everything is great when it's falling apart, then when you do leave because you just can't take anymore they act all shocked and hurt like they never saw it coming?

Because they are trying to be strong, cool and in control. Well in fact, they are the ones who are weak when the time comes. They don't want to show their feelings and emotions but in the end, they will show it.

Thats a terrible relationship. I call it a "dog relationship." The dogs barking but they dont here it. And when the dog runs away they wanna cry. I dont consider you a dog but some men treat there woman like that. Only good for sex and cooking. If you have a man who abides by this theory I would leave. No body walks behind in a relationship. Its side to side holding hands. Hope you make the right decision boo.

Some guys simply dont want to hear the bad things. They pretend all is well and hope the bad will just go away. Its called denial.

I don't think this is a gender issue. I begged my ex to go to therapy because I was unhappy and she refused thinking that everything was alright and then after several years of dealing with a loveless marriage I filed for divorce on then she wanted to go to therapy but at that point it was too late.

Once a guy is 'comfortable' within the relationship, we tend to want to stay right there. We don't want to venture out of that comfort zone, so we tend to overlook "complicated" issues, new routines, subject matters that require "out of the norm" communication...
I'm sorry ladies, but when we find that comfort zone; we are contempt, we are happy with the world, we are oblivious to anything that's not going to add extra comfort to our routine. It's not that we are ignoring you and not paying attention to your needs, we just haven't arrived to that level of GIVE-TAKE / SHARE and SHARE. You've added to the complexity by helping us to reach that comfort level, and then you yank the rug out from under us.
It's just a matter of maturity... women reach the GIVE-TAKE / SHARE and SHARE level before men, so please just continue to accept us as we are until our knuckles no longer drag the ground.

From a guys perspective, some women gripe, gripe, nag, nag complain, complain it loses its importance. It becomes like a squeaky wheel, an annoying background noise, you know the kind one chooses to tune out. I don't presume to know your situation but this is one possibility.

Sasha, men like to hunt. When they catch their prey, they aren't satisfied. The thrill is in the hunt.
