Ask him some questions that are easy to answer, like -- did you like pirate of the carribean.

Why did you post this in CLEANING AND LAUNDRY?

Well, he's shy as long he's never talked to you much.Believe me what you have to do is just to approach him casually, like for a notebook and something and subsequently striking up a light conversation. Don't be over enthusiastic and talk about only a topic that he knows well.Don't make him feel awkward. He'll realize that you are interested in him and definitely open up. Then perhaps he'll talk more than you. Just do it.
Best of luck!!

Be patient. My youngest boy is so shy. (7th grade) You need to try and talk to him and let him no you would like to be his friend . He will talk. My son did not talk to my Bro-in-law for 3 months, no they are buddies. Let him no if you ever need a friend he can count on you. Good Luck! By the way his teacher said he is coming out of his shell.

Personally, I myself am a rather shy guy especailly whenit comes to meeting new people and especailly gals.

My two cents worth.....The main reason why he is shy is probably because he fells something for you. Trust me...its more difficult to meet eye to eye with someone you have a kindling for.

It would certainly help if you could indicate to him that you are interested in him if you have not done already. I think since this is the 20th century....go ahead, make the first move......be the guy in the relationship....hehe......sometimes its better to be thick skinned then let a possibly great relationship go.....

Hope this is helpful

cheers

Start a conversation, by conversing, you can tell when the person fits your tastes. After conversing a lot, he'll feel more confortable talking to other people or women.

You take off your shyness and approch him boldly as a friend first and later on do as you wish to keep the relationship with him.

I think you should try to get close to him little by little. You don't want to scare him. When he is not bothered with your presence around then it's time to have a real talk with him.
Don't give him up. He's just not self-confident, but you can change it.

Talk to him. Ask him about his hobbies. What he does for fun, etc. Not all guys will come out of their shell, but he may come out enough to be your friend. Good luck.
