Start by doing dribbling runs around a court. It seems less like running when you are dribbling a ball. Do some suicide runs, push yourself to complete them and they will get easier. Always practice running with a ball dribbling. That will increase your skills exponentially!

Start doing push ups and sit ups, if you are out of shape set a goal to be able to do 30 of each in under a minute. Then increase from there.

Depending on the position you want, practice your shot whether it's a lay-up, 3-pointer or somewhere in the key, like the elbow. Keep going in that spot until you get 5 in a row, then move to another. Keep pushing yourself to do these, work up a good sweat!

Drink lots of water and eat healthy foods. I always drink Orange juice before a practice for an extra boost.

Finally visualize yourself being able to run all the time and making your shots. This helps too.

If you smoke, quit. That seriously messes up your chances.

Good luck!

Maybe you should ask the team from Greech this question.....sound like some of your answere are from the American team!....the best tip is try jumping rope.....just see if you can keepit up for 5 minutes.......you won't but keep doing it until you can go that long ......you might try running "horses"....to hard to explain....ask your basketball coach he will no doubt know what "horses" are.....good luck...but most of all enjoy the sport and learn the fundamentals and stick with them......no like the American Team!!

First of all, you should be in high school. They tend to be sticklers about that.

Secondly, if you are shorter than 5'1" I would give it up.

As for getting in shape, just eat lots of Pop Tarts.
