...what is the law as to loud music? cause I had my neighbor last nite, a week nite...blaring his music till 1 am(or later cause I eventually fell asleep with a headache from it), to the point where you could almost hear it loud and clear in my house and alot of boom, boom, boom. Isnt it like a 11pm noise curfew? What can I do without causing friction between us to put this to a stop? I was temtped to call the cops last nite but if I did I was afraid they would say it was me who called and then there would be friction between us..which is what I don't want. Any good advice anyone can give me? It would defently be appreciated cause this has been happening almost every nite.

it honestly depends on if you live in an incorporated area or unincorporated area. if its "un" its basically whatever the county has set it at. which is usually pretty late. but for "in" just call the police, they will tell you the time.

i had a problem with my neighbors and went to ask them to please hold it down at night because i would get up early. i did it so there wouldnt be any harsh feelings between us, but they decided they were going keep doing it anyway. so i called the cops on them. and contrary to what was said earlier, they WILL find out it was you if you sign a complaint. but if you just call and want the police to show up, they will do that without saying who called.

It depends on your local city ordinances. In most towns, the noise curfew is 10 p.m. and during the day you can't exceed a certain noise level. Call the local police station, they should be able to tell you.

No matter what, if you're bothered by your neighbor's behavior, you don't have to put up with it. You can make an annonomyous complaint to the police and they'll take care of it.

If you don't want to go to the cops, try simply talking to them. Let them know as nicely as possible that their music disturbs you at night and ask if they could knock it down a knotch or two. But in my experience, this never ends well. It may be more constructive to simply make an annonomyous complaint to the police.

It's a public nuisance to play loud music so that it is disruptive (this goes for loud bass in cars). You need to check with your local ordinance (call you city or township) and make an anonymous complaint. Boom boom boom isn't OK anytime of the day. Sometimes, though, people don't realize they are playing music so loud that everyone can hear. Have you chatted nicely with your neighbor? Just jokingly say, "Hey man, what are ya deaf. I like your kind of music, but can we tone it down after 11 or so? I gotta work in the morning, and I'm really a light sleeper".

There actually isnt a noise ordinance, the Police must recieve 2 complaints on the same person to do anything. Most Police pull cars over with "loud" music because they feel it isnt safe for the driver to have there music that loud due to not being able to hear horns, police sirens and things like that. I went to court on a noise ticket and it got thrown out of court because the judge didnt have any laws he could use to fine me (at least in Ohio).

There is already "friction" between you. Call the cops the next time your neighbor blares music after 11:00 PM. The law is on your side.

First of all, don't call the cops if you don't have to. That's just being a pain in the @ss for no good reason. Why don't you go talk to them and ask politly if they could turn the music down a little earlier. You don't have to be rude to get the point acrossed. If that doesn't work, who cares if it causes friction. That's when you call the cops.

basically the noise should be gone by 10 pm. I think anywhere in the U.S. You could call the cops and the cops won't say who made the call. It's a disturbance of the peace and that's really late for your neighbors to be rude like that. If it happens again tonight, then I say call the cops.

Pick a time of day thats appropriate for both you and your neighbor and explain to them your situation, let them know you don't want to pick a fight . ( if your neighbor is a teenager or young ) the best thing to do would be to talk to the teenager directly, talking to their parents may upset them causing problems but let them know that your serious, if the problem continues i would talk to them again for one last warning and let them know that you will take legal actions if necessary ( in other words your gonna call the police). Make sure when your talking to them that your both calm
and that the situation doesn't get out of hand.
