I have a PowerMac G5 and recently had to purchase a Airport Extreme card for my computer so that I could connect to the internet wirelessly. I moved to my uncle's house; he has Yahoo/SBC DSL. This is how it is currently set up: my uncle desktop computer connects to a wired modem/router, which connects to a NetGear wireless router. My computer (which is on the 2nd floor) receives its signal from the wireless router.

My connection is unbearably slow; is there any way that I can boost my speed? Or is this normal? I'm used to having Comcast High-Speed cable internet so I don't know if DSL is just normally much slower or what.

Can anyone help me out?

You might have some way to check the connection strength. It is is below 80% it might be due to thick walls and/or floors. You could try moving the router to a different location to move it close to your computer or get a boosting antenae at Best Buy or somewhere.
