So, based on your question, are you ALSO saying that conservatives 'love' war?

And for the record, a lot of non-liberals (like myself) hate war.
Whats to love...or even like in war?

Now, Ecclesiastes (see link for text) clearly states that for every time, there is a season.
And war is part of that.

But a JUST war, a war where there is a clear plan, clear purpose and clear exit strategy.

Can you honestly tell me that the invasion of Iraq is a JUST war?

By the way - regarding the Serb bombing, I was no fan of Clinton, but I'll tell you this, once our troops arrived in Bosnia, the local people were very happy to have some peace.
I know, I was there...and I was very proud of our troops.
I'm sure the situation is similar in Iraq, for some of the local people...after all Saddam was no angel.
But the difference between the two events are night and day.

And tell me, friend, are you ready to support an invasion into Iran?
The winds of war are just starting to pick up.
Hope you are ready to enlist, because our troop resources are woefully low right now.

I am far from being a liberal. However I have seen combat and I hate all war. It is ugly and hurtful. It should be entered into only in the most grave of situations. The "war" in Iraq was a foolish waste of men and material. 18 cents worth of 7.62 ball ammo would have ended Soddom had anyone thought he should be gone. Now we have once again stuck our soft part in the fan by getting involved in a gorilla war. A high tech high mobility force can not win a gorilla war. Our entire army was designed to fight armored warfare in Europe. It is not working in Iraq. And unless we A. field an entirely different field force or B. Kill everyone in the country who has a weapon or who is standing within 20 meters of someone who has a weapon it is never going to work.

A full 51 percent of Americans say "the war was a mistake", they are not all Liberals. Protest marches are planned at every stop Bush makes to support the Republicans war. A large crowd was just seen in Salt lake City. A red State. Are you aware that the President lied in order to gain support for the invasion of Iraq?
Are you aware that 300,000 civilians have died since desert storm in Iraq? Are you aware that we have 2650 dead and over 20,000 wounded in Iraq? Are you aware that Iraq is in Civil war that will last ten years? Are you aware that the Iraq war will cost working class tax payers $2 trillion over ten years? Are you aware that Bin Laden and al Quaeda are in Afghanistan not Iraq? Are you aware that no matter what we do in Iraq in the end Iran will control Iraq? Are you aware that Iraqis hate democracy?
Rummy, Rummy, Rummy, you really need to retire.
I do not see what Clinton has to do with all of this mess?

Because this war seems to have started for no reason.
First, it was WMD, when that didn't work it was Saddam for being a dictator and a threat to America ...mm.. do you know how many dictators are in the world that don't like America? Just couple a months ago, I believe Bush visited one ...somewhere... let's say Venezuala, where the president specifically said that he wanted to end America's imperialism..
Something smelled rotten from the beginning. Now, since what's done is done, let's focus on what we're trying to accomplish now.. and that is? Since we "freed" them, we're going now for self-reliance and independance for the Iraqi people!!! YAY!
oh , wait... there's a freakin civil war going on, where not only Iraqis are killed, but many of our soldiers!!
What's not to like really?
I don't remember Clinton, I wasn't interested in politics then but I'll do some research...

I don't think war in general is a good way to solve problems. It usually causes more and longer lasting problems than other ways of enacting change. There are times when war is necessary however. Iraq is not one of them. Could there be an exercise that was MORE poorly planned or executed than Iraq? Not to mention the false pretenses under which it was sold to the public.

Let me ask you the converse; why do you like the war in Iraq?

Take a deep breath. First of all it isn't a war,,, it is/was a poorly thought out extermination, and has accomplished that in over 100,000 civilans to date.

I'm not a liberal or a conservative, but I detest the actions taking place.

There has been and will be a useless expense of time, energy, money,,, and most importantly,,,LIFE,,, in this latest blunder by a Leader who should likely have offered to step in the path of the first shot fired.

What exactly was accomplished by the war in Iraq?
Ousting Saddam was about the only good side effect. What's in place now is far worse according to most Iraqis.

Mainly because Clinton did it after George Bush Seinor, who actually had a surplus after the first gulf war.

So we could actually bomb it without spending that much money.

However, with the Iraq war, we're using up too much with too little, and we're spending too much.

Economics.

Hmmm. I must say, during that time I was too busy watching 90210. I suppose, for me, I still don't understand why we went in instead of tracking down the people who flew into the WTC and the Pentagon? What does Saddam have to do with anything right now? REGIME CHANGE. we just got attacked and you want to free IRAQ??????

Why is it we now have to cower to IRAN and N.Korea who DO HAVE WMDs? BECAUSE WE'RE F*CKING AROUND IN IRAQ!!!!!!!!

As for the rest...I can't answer for them..I do hope a well informed Lib. answers you honestly and openly.
