I have a wedding to go in two weeks. Went to a rental shop for a tuxedo, I was surprised about the forty pages of rapper pimp suits they had in their catalog... After looking around for a hour FINALLY found a normal tuxedo...
Sad that the rap bidness is taking over fashion, also.

Remember that in addition to weddings, tux rental places also outfit kids for the prom. No, you wouldn't wear that shiny purple suit to a wedding or formal dinner, but somewhere out there is a 17-year-old who wants a crazy tux that will stand out in a crowd.

You don't need a tuxedo to go to a wedding.
Get yourself a pressed pair of dark pants, fresh clean french cuffs white shirt with some cool cuff links, ad a vest and if you want a tie.
The cuff links are a formal look and an indication that u are atleast trying to dress up out of respect for the wedding party.
Take a look at this site for alot of great info on dressing up and a very, very easy 6 step guide to tying a tie and wearing cuff links.

I agree with Flippy.

Not all tuxes are used for adults. Teen and college age guys might want to be wild and crazy. A traditional black tux is boring when every one else is wearing one. A lot of guys like to stand out, same as women. You don't see woman all wearing the same dress to an event, so why should guys have to?

While I wouldn't want my husband to go crazy, if I was still in high school, I might not care as long as it didn't clash with my dress. (My dress being the more important factor here.)
