VHS/DVD (Disney or Pixar new release)
Barbie or Doll (Bratz or anything Barbie)
Pair of shoes

You never go wrong asking the parent what the child needs.

Educational toys are always good. Go into the baby section in the toy isle and look for anything that says, "For ages 3 and up". They're not going to say they don't like the gift.

Any piece of crap toy for 3 year olds will be fine since it will just be broken and/or forgotten about in 2 days anyway.

the same thing that you just pick up for your daughter just to be getting her something. not to expensive, etc. walmart has a great selectioin of stuff for that age for like a buck or something. maybe some of those colorful magnetic letters and numbers. something she can play with and use to learn at the same time.

try by hitting around asking her what some of the stuff she likes or is into. Jamie always lost in Illinois.

My Little Pony or a really cute, good quality, stuffed white kitty with pink on it somewhere.

Ask her mom, she would know what her child is into. Chances are she's into the same characters/things your daughter is.
