Since I have never gone into labour on my own and I am pregnant with my second child. I was wondering, if my water breaks while I am sleeping or sitting on the couch for example how do you clean that up? Does amniotic fluid stain?

Amniotic fluid contains proteins, carbohydrates, urea and lipids, and while it might not stain your couch, it does smell a bit. I think you'll have other things on your mind when the moment happens, to be honest. Ordinary household cleaners should clean it up fine.

Mine broke at home just as I sat down to pee. No labour yet though...I was being induced and was sent home the day before. It won't stain but it will start to smell if not cleaned up properly

about 2 or 3 litres came out of me. it does stain. mine broke in bed, but I realised before antyhing came out (weird popping feeling at about the right time), so I stuffed a towel between my legs and ran to the toilet- that did the trick- no mess until i got there.

Great question!
This is my first pregnancy, and the thought crossed my mind as well though never at a time when someone was around to ask.

no. its not like pee. and more than likely ur water wont break til ur far into labor and having contractions. the water breaking is usually the last thing to occur during labor.
