Creatures of their own species are attracted to the same species. You may not think an octopus looks like much but all the female octopii are probably thinking "Coor, I'd like some of that!".

Actually, they're naturally attracted by instinct, it's not always physical attraction that draws them together.

In response to "Rev. Steven"'s comment: Calling everything non-human a lower-life makes the human race seem really stuck up.

Lower life forms aren't strictly attracted by physical appearance, although some species are brightly colored, and/or have specific things about them that "attract" the opposite gender.

Their brains, and processes are instinctual, not thought out necessarily, and procreation is the goal always,,,beyond other means by which they survive.

Humans certainly, but unfortunately, are attracted initially by appearance, and often never get to really know the person they might otherwise enjoy.

I can anaologize our species, in that regard, this way.

Assume you are Blind,,,What levels of judgement and attraction would you use?

Rev. Steven

BTW,,,"UGLY" is subjective, relative, and inane

Just because you are not familiar with somethings look, does not make it ugly. Octopuses (I think) are beautiful. Incredibly smart too. Hairy bugs are a wonder of nature.
We all find our partners.

From the perspective of an octopus, I would imagine we look pretty ugly.

Or wart hogs, for that matter.
