Death Row is Shug Knight's record label that snoop used to be signed to however he was on trial for murder in the 90's. His body guard shot and killed a man in compton while in the car with snoop.

Snoop dog, used to be on Death Row Records, run by Suge Knight. But now, what with Suge Knight keep getting locked up, then he's off that label and onto a geffen subsidury these days I think.
The closest he's come to death row was when he was aquitted from a murder case, as apparently his bodyguard fired the shot and it wa self defence.

Well, he had to go to court (I think in 93) for a murder charge, but was founded not guilty, but no.. he was never on 'execution' death row...just the record label.

I think it is actually based on hm trying to help Stanley Tookie Williams a pardon.
Snoop Dog and other entertainers had taken up this cause to free this man. I think being there had an impact on snoop.
