State of Mind
Have you ever said "good morning" to anyone at 2 am. No, because that's still the evening. Lunch separates morning and afternoon.

To me, morning officially is from 12.00 midnight to 11.59am but some people still say "good night" when the time is between midnight and 5.30am and "good morning" does extend over 12 noon to about 1.00pm which is lunch time for many. An example of this is people who I encounter on some walks I do, do say "morning" between 12 noon and 1.00pm, but for me, morning is a time of day.

I agree with you.. I believe is both..The morning for many people is considered to end around 10 am.. If I have not had breakfast and is 1 pm I still feel like is morning. I consider a morning until I get to eat my breakfast.. No matter how late I get to it, still it is breakfast. I will skip lunch but never breakfast. So Top of the morning to You!!

haha, well i think people are pretty testy to be telling you off for saying "morning" five minutes late...
when i am greeting people, i use "morning" until 12 noon, and after that I use "afternoon"... but thats just being used for the sake of other people...
if you believe that its morning for you until you each lunch, then its morning for you.. but that doesnt make it morning for everybody else too... lol...
i tend to think morning is a time of day... if i sleep in and wake up at 4pm, do i think im getting up in the "morning"... no, i call it afternoon
but then i also tend not to eat breakfast.. lol, so i have morning for most of the day...?

Morning is a time of a day. But what the hell... be the first to greet "good morning" the people you work with at night.

Well for me it's a time of day. But I just think the people saying that to you are overreacting. Morning for me is until I get out of my pj's and stop being sleepy. So sometimes morning is all day for me. So I guess it's both for me. But no, those people shouldn't have overreacted like that.

i think technically it's morning until 12:00 and then at 12:01 it's afternoon because it's after noon.

No! Your totally wrong! Morning is morning, noon is noon, afternoon is night and night is afternoon and midnight is when we get naked, now don't forget this.
