I was wondering when i could put a pillow in my sons crib for him. He is only 10 months old so i am sure its to young yet but when he is on the carpet playing he loves when i have pillows down because he lays all over them.

I have a 3 year old. When he was a baby he loved to roll around on a bunch of pillows and when he got a little older he used them to land on after he launched himself off the couch. :) However, I think it's too early for your kiddo to have a pillow in his crib. I let my son have one after he turned 2. Younger than that and they can still sleep so soundly that they are in danger (not that an older child won't sleep soundly). Don't give him a pillow just to make him happy. No one will be happy if something terrible happens, and he won't know the difference anyway. I'm 99% sure your pediatrician would agree with me.

Do not let infants use any type of pillows in their beds until after the age of 24 months. I am a Safe Sleep Trainer and using items in baby beds such as pillows, animals, toys, bumper pads, etc can have a huge increase risk for babies dying of unsafe sleep practices and even SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Allow your son to use the pillow when he is awake and strengthening his neck and shoulder muscles.

It isn't to soon I started to put a flat pillow in my daughters crib when she was 9 or 10 months old, And she will be a year old next month. Mygrandma didi it on day so she would sleep in her own crib instead of wanting to sleep in her arms or in the bed with her. It smelled of me so she felt as if I was there. Best of luck

My daughter is only 7 months and I have a pillow for her crib. He's fine I'm sure with a pillow in his crib. Do what makes him happy. Happy parenting!

My doctor told me after four months the chance of SIDS is slim. As long as he can lift up his head, you will be fine.

no i would let him have a pillow just not a big one or a really soft one where his face would sink in to it
