Well, given that we already have to apologize for Paris Hilton, the decimation of the Native Indians, Pauly Shore, CarrotTop, Billy Ray Cyrus, 75% of the Baldwin Brothers (oh, wait, they're Canada's fault), NASCAR, Cheez Whiz, missing WMD's, the Edsel, sausage-on-a-stick, Richard Simmons, George Bush, and Liberace....
Nope, I think we already have enough.....besides, the film 1492 was FAR more embarrassing than anything Columbus did.
"Ya got my Cheez Whiz, boy?!"

No country was was ever set out to be Discovered... It just happens. Do you think people were sitting around and ever said, "You know... I think if I get in a boat and go across the Ocean I will find this big piece of land named America." All of Europe at one time or another was Discovered... So was Asia... So was Australia... So was Africa for that matter.... That's the funny thing about a planet... You start at one point and make your way outward... At some point you are going to find a new piece of land or you will end up back where you started... Oh and as for the Country now being run by an idiot... I could make the same case for France, Iran, and half of Latin America... And probably for whatever country you come from.

Neither the Native Americans nor the Vikings were lost when they came here, they were exploring. If you are referring to Columbus he might have been "lost" but that's nothing to be embarrassed about... at least he took the chance and came here.
Also none of these people discovered a country. They discovered continents. And not all people of American countries have idiots leading their country.
I hope your country isn't embarrassed at what a poor job they did educating you.

If you're Central American, then maybe your argument has validity. ( The West Indies.... a shorter way to get to India... that's a wee lost)
America wasn't a country...it was hardly settled. The fact that Hudson, Vespuchi, Ericson, and many others were all doing the same thing... trying to soak-in the "new-world" .... not trying to find a shorter way to the Far-East...
The fact that we were settled by Europeans and revolted against them sooner than any other colony stands as Americans greatest attribute.... the old system doesn't work and we recognized it, reacted to it .... and started our own system.
ponder this.....

Um I dont think so in the least. There are many debates whether columbus or the vikings or whomever discovered america in the first place. If you think about it most lands were probably discovered by accident. It wasnt like all of a sudden the world was populated except america. Every place besides eden was discovered by accidentally stumbling upon it at one time or another.

America was discovered some 20,000 years before mapmaking and the compass were invented so the discoverer was probably lost.

No, we are still alittle safer here.
The Angles weren't lost when they conquered Britain.
The Saxons ditto
The Jutes ditto
The Romans ditto
The Normans ditto
The Germans weren't lost when they tried twice.
The IRA will never forget where Britain is.
The sea, the sea, the beautiful sea.
Long may it roll between England and me.
God help the poor Scotsman, he'll never be free,
But we're thousands of miles miles 'cross the water.
