Yes, It sounds like you have all the symptoms to be pregnant. being about 5 wks. you may not have enough hormones just yet to make a pos. test. You can have several false negatives but never a false pos. As for the blood test it should be faster than two weeks. I would wait a few more days and do another urine test. Look in your local yellow pages under pregnancy and go to a clinic that offers them for free.

It sure sounds like pregnancy is a strong possibility. With a home pregnancy test, that "test" line (the one that shows up if you are pregnant) only "catches" the dye if you have the hormone in your blood that is responsible for pregnancy. It doesn't matter how light or dark that second line is. If there are two lines, you are pregnant. An ultrasound would be the gold standard in determining pregnancy. See if you can't get your Dr. to give you one.
The person that gave you the advice to act as though you are pregnant until you find out otherwise was right on. You can go to the grocery store or drug store and buy prenatal vitamins right off the shelf. Generic or name brand doesn't matter. There are minimum guidelines that they all have to follow and generic will save money. I suggest that you take a prenatal vitamin every day. Eat healthy meals with plenty of veggies, fruits, milk, cheese, meat, and beans. Don't diet or restrict calories. Look online to see which types of fish is low in mercury and other contaminants and try to get some of that in your diet if you can (when I was pregnant, fish made me sick). Get enough rest.
As far as my own experience is concerned, I suspected I was pregnant with my son when certain smells bothered me (almost to the point of being ill) which never had bothered me before that badly, and I was very very tired. I took a home pregnancy test and the line was very light but it was there. My nipples were also very sore early in my pregnancy. Sure enough, later on that year we had our baby boy. Every pregnancy is different and every woman is different, though, so your experience will be different from mine and most other womens'. If someone tells you about their own pregnancy and it is different from what you are experiencing now, don't assume that you aren't pregnant or that there is something wrong.
Good luck! Hope this helped.

I have had two pregnancies and now I think I am pregnant with my third. I have yet in all my pregnancies to have a positive urine test. It is driving me crazy. In the past, I have had to rely on blood tests. I also needed to be at least 6 weeks along. I too have all the pregnancy symptoms and still have bought all the tests, even though I know better. Good Luck

some women at the beginning produce low "pregnancy" hormone, so that's why the urine test may not detect the pregnancy. Wait for the blood results. When I went to the doctor, they did urine test, it didn't show first and then showed 2 lines, very faded, the doctors doubt that I was pregnant first.
Good luck.

I actually had a period after I was pregnant, so yes, you could very well be pregnant. Also had a negative pregnancy test at the doctor's office once, and the result of that one just turned 20 years old.

I know if the HPT was positive even almost totally faded then there is a least a trace of the pregnancy hormone. The Dr's urine test was probably done after your 1st morning urine, maybe too early too detect. I would buy an EPT today and "pee" on it 1st thing in the morning. I bet it will be +. Hopefully it good news for you! Keep us posted!

I had taken 2 HTP's with a slight positive and then 1 with a negative before... and turned out I was pregnant. Your blood test may come back positive.. but you are most likely less than 5 weeks.

not to me...but I have heard of it...you may be testing too soon. Did the internal exam show your uterus is larger? If you don't get your period in another 2 weeks...we test and maybe ask for an ultrasound. In the mean time...act as if you are prego...don't smoke, drink or do drugs...the baby is develpoing like crazy right now if you are!

Jeez you sure sound pregnant. im sure there are rare cases when they cant detect it, i know someone who only found out she was pregnant after a few months BECAUSE everything kept coming back negative....but since they say ur not id go see a doctor to check you out for anthing else...but first i'd ask for an ultrasound if you have a gut feeling!
Good luck, and i hope youre either pregnant or get well! :-)
