YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think of how awesome it would be to not have to inhale that crap! My friend was out last night in a pretty tight crowd, (not a bar) and people were packed in tight and she said smokers thought nothing of it, they were lighting up left and right. Now that is downright rude! Not only were they polluting the air she is breathing but where the hell are they flicking those ashes and butts! UGH
So not only the air pollution factor. But what about the butts all over the ground every where you go. How gross is that? UGH!!! I just got back from vacation at the beach, beautiful sugar white sand but it was like walking in an ashtray. Really that is so rude and disgusting I would like to know who the hell smokers think they are????
So yeah, smoking anywhere in public should absolutely be banned. And I wish my state would enact a smoking ban in all restaurants and bars and everywhere else! PLEASE!!!!!
And don't let all the smart butts tell you the Federal Government can't do this. Hello? They withheld road funding unless each state passed a speed limit the Feds wanted them to pass. Believe me, they can do the same with smoking.

How about who cares how it's done? Federal Law, Individual State decision, what matters is that THERE SHOULD BE NO SMOKING IN PUBLIC PLACES. Let's think of it this way: If you chose to drink or do drugs that require injection or snorting or are orally injested, you are only affecting yourself. When you smoke, you are forcing everyone around you to inhale poison. Perhaps someone can invent a devise that works like a helmet that smokers can wear so that they only are inhaling the smoke and none of it escapes as second hand smoke. Then no one would give a sh** if you smoked 40 packs a day!
Until then, smokers should be walled into glass cages, or stay at home.
I vote that they allow drug use in public places and ban smoking!

Contrary to popular belief, the US government cannot simply pass laws outlawing whatever they want. There are strict guidelines in the constitution that state what laws the federal government can have authority over. Everything else is up to each individual state. That is why they had to pass a constitutional amendment in order to make alcohol illegal. They do not have the authority to pass such a law.

Nicotine is a stimulant and is one of the main factors responsible for the dependence-forming properties of tobacco smoking.
Through the use of cigarettes, cigars, and chewing tobacco, nicotine is one of the most heavily used addictive drugs in the United States.
Nicotine is a drug, it is addictive, and it is harder to break than heroin.
Instead of throwing rocks at all of the souls who have become ensnared by this drug, why don't folks choose to become a part of the solution instead of choosing to be a part of the problem?
Is compassion lost to our world? Did you read above? It is all verifiable on the Internet! Just Google it.
I could rant on this topic forever but I will not.
Bless you and peace to you always!
Have fun but be safe.

It has to be middle of the road. Second hand smoke should not have to be around none smokers. But smokers should not have to stand out in the cold they need an area to go.

That should be left up to the local and state governments since they are the ones who will have to pay for its enforcement. You give our federal government far too much power that they really do not have.

Tough call. On one hand it would violate civil rights, but on the other hand non-smokers die from second hand smoke after making the decision never to start doing it themselves. Right to smoke or right to live. I personally would welcome a federal law.

All rights to make laws, except those specified in the Constitution, belong to the individual states.
The Constitution is an magnificent work. You may even consider reading it some day.

I dont smoke myself, but its definitly not up to the national govt. to tell people where they can and can't smoke. if they want to, they should be able to smoke wherever. (exept for a private buissiness like Wal Mart or something)

Absolutely not.
Since tobacco is a slow poison, and tobacco companies and smokers know about that, it should be outlawed completely
Tobacco pushers should be imprisoned for assisted suicide.
