Please clarify the first problem; is the statement correct as I have understood it?
23/4 x 2/7 -5-6

This is a simple fraction problem, so I am wondering if you left something out.

The third problem can be solved by setting the statement equal to zero:

3-2a +10 - 3(2a - 3) = 0

Multiply the - 3(2a - 3):

- 3(2a - 3) = - 6a + 9

Your equation now looks like this, after you have multiplied the last term through:

3 - 2a + 10 - 6a + 9 = 0

Group and add all your terms:

3 + 10 + 9 - 2a - 6a = 0
22 - 8a = 0

Now bring the term with the variable to the right side of the equation, remembering to change the sign when you do:

22 = 8a

Keeping in mind that whatever you do to one side of the equation, you must do to the other side, divide both sides by 8:

22/8 = 8a/8

22/8 = a

Reduce the fraction to: 11/4 or 2.75 = a

The second problem can be solved in a similar fashion:

5d - 3 = 7d + 9

Group like terms, and put all the terms with variables on the right side of the equation, and the number terms on the left side, remembering to change signs when you do:

- 9 - 3 = 7d - 5d
- 12 = 2d

Divide both sides by 2

- 12d/ 2 = 2d/ 2

- 6 = d

When I was in school, we always put the variable on the right side of the equation, but do it the way your teacher has told you to do it. You may contact me for tutoring; I do it professionally.

I did not understand the first Problem

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
2nd Problelm

5d - 3 = 7d + 9
- 9 - 9

Subtracting - 9 from both sides

5d - 12 = 7d
-5d -5d

Subtracting - 5d from both sides

- 12 = 2d

-12/2 - 2d/2

-6 = d

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

3rd problelm

3 - 2a = 10 -3(2a - 3)

3 - 2a = 10 - 6a + 9

3 - 2a = 19 - 6a
-19 -19

Subtracting - 19 from both sides

-16 - 2a = - 6a
- 2a -2a

Subtracting - 2a from both sides

- 16 = - 4a

- 16/-4 = -4a/-4

Dividing both sides by - 4

4 = a

5d-3=7d+9,transposing
-2d=12
d=-6

3-2a+10-3(2a-3) this can only be simplified and not solved as there is no equation
3-2a+10-6a+9=-8a+22
