Is it reccomened to drain your ipod battery? If so, how often should you drain it ?

why would you drain it? In the past batteries based off of Nickel needed to be primed and were to be drained, with lithium ion theres no need. Draining your battery will just give you a battery with 0% life lol. So no, don't drain it.

If you want to prelong your ipod battery you should keep it charged within the 60%-80% charged level.

It's clearly stated on the Apple website that you DON'T have to drain the battery of your iPod. It won't do anything to help prolong your battery life. I know this because I did some research when I was concerned about the life of my battery. I would always hold myself back from plugging it into my computer unless the battery's almost empty, but it bugged me not to be able to plug it whenever I wanted. So I looked around for info and that's what I found out.

Lithium batteries need to deplete for effective recharging. It will allow your Ipod's battery to last longer. Battery info is available
at the Apple/Ipod website.

I don't think you should drain your I-pod battery, I did that by mistake and it never worked again.

i drain it about every 3 months. its helped keep my battery pretty fresh

all li-ions batterys shouldnt be drained comppletely. itl kill it. but since its an ipod who cares.

im not sure but i have done that 2 types in the past like year by acident but it still works so i wouldnt be able to tell u ..........
