That all depends on where you live and your lifestyle. Do you want a big house? Do you want a small apartment? Do you feed a large family or just yourself? Do you prefer going out to eat? Do you want to have satellite TV, cell phone, landline phone, internet, and all other subscription electronics? Do you prefer to live in the rural or urban areas? What do you like to do for fun?
IT really depends.
But per month, one can be fairly comfortable on $3,000.

It all depends. For example, my mom owns a apartment building and the people pay different amounts of rent depending on how many bedrooms. Now the people in our building only pay electric which is around $50-$100. My mom Pays the gas and water bill so it really depends on where you live. Now you can rent to own a house and the rent is around $500 or more or less. depends on the owner. And payment on cars depends. Because of car inspections and fixing your car to pass inspection and insurance. You will have to do some research online.

In the Chicago area, rent is anywhere from $500 (for a nasty apartment somewhere) to $750-$900 to rent a decent house. Food- if you eat fast food everyday figure $10.00 a day. Going to the movies- about $15.00 a person (to get in and a soda and stuff.) Car maitenence is expensive (if you have major problems.) An oil change is about $15.00-$25.00. If you find a job that includes insurance, you don't have to worry about medical....

everywhere is different. I live in Florida, for a mobile home in this area, say a two bedroom, rent is about 750/month. Your electric bill is about 120/month. Cable is 50/month. Car insurance for us(me and my husband) is 120/month. our cell phones are 100/month. i spend about 60/week in gas for both vehicles. I spend about 100/week on groceries(5 people)

The costs vary a lot. If you would like to live in a small midwestern town, 2-3,000/month should be ok. If you would like to live in mid-town Manhattan, 20-30,000 for a so-so life, 50,000+ to live nicely.

Where you live is a moot point. The life style that you aspire to, is going to be the main factor.Your personal desires and what it takes for you to be happy.
