all the time!!! it's the worst! What I try to do is have an open-mind and listen to the entire album over and over again to see if any of the other tracks will "grow" on me.....but I usually know after the first couple of times of listening through if I can tolerate it or not. One trick is to look up the CD on CDnow.com....they usually have samples of each track on the album! That way you can sample it for free and no harm done if you dislike it!

I imagine many people bought the Green Day album (Nimrod?) on the strength of 'Good Riddance' and had a bit of a shock at the rest of it.... however, as the whole of the Kooks album sounds pretty much the same, I'm surprised that's happened to you there...

Patti Smith. "Because the Night" is such a classic and the rest's just weird drivel
Same goes for Blue Oyster Cult

Yes! Sadly this is what the music industry has done to us! We pay their bills, so they want to cheat us out of as much cash as they possibly can. That's why people illegally download music all the time. In the earlier days of music they gave you time to develop your sound, but these days bands aren't allowed to do that, so they write albums full of throw aways and a couple hits to keep them afloat.

i love inside in, inside out! I think its always worth buying an album tho if youre gonna splash out on the single anyway - only an extra fiver or so and laods more songs - chances are will usually like the other tunes.

Years ago I bought Angel Dust by Faith No More because I love 'Easy'. However, the rest of the album was complete rubbish - all heavy metal nonsense.

Of course. That's why you should never by a cd new. Always buy on Ebay. That way you only pay a couple of dollars for a cd that sucks. And if it turns out to be a great cd then you've only spent a couple of dollars on a great cd!

That happens to me a lot. I'm sure it does to a lot of others as well. That's why burning music is so popular these days. You can get the songs you want without having to buy the others that really suck!
