Try Buscopan tablets. They are muscle relaxants and can really help with bad period pains. If you are having heavy or bad periods with lots of pain then you can tabke 2 buscopan tablets for the first couple of days. If you know when your due to start you can even start taking them a few days before your period. It helps to ease you in and you dont get the large pains. You can buy them in the pharmacy or get them free on the NHS via your doctor.
Also, if your able to...lye on a bed (or even the floor) and raise your legs up. This helps to stop you from feeling faint and helps reduce the pain. Match this with a warm hot water bottle and a circular rubbing motion on your stomach.
Hope it helps!

Walk it off hon. Go for a nice long one! Believe it or not it helps a lot. I know it's the last think you want to be doing but if you think of it, it makes sense. Your uterus hurts because it is contracting to shed the lining of blood that has built up during the month anticipating a pregnancy. Since it's not needed the walls contract to break it down. Walking and exercising and stimulating it with the surrounding muscles actually massages it and makes you feel better!!!
If all else fails, take a pill, any pill...it's pretty well the cure all for everything.

Rubbing deap heat helps. Cup of tea. Or a shot of brandy.
Did you know that you can take ibroprofin at the same time as paracetemol because they work in different ways. But watch out combining that with the brandy!
I'm going to talk to my doctor about going on the pill. Friends have told me it works wonders.

Painkillers, I horse ride and noticed recently that i dont have any pain when on a horse, so I came to the conclusion that relaxing you're lower body can be a big help too, also it helps if you are doing something because it takes you're mind of the pain.

I have this problem as I type!
I find a hot water bottle on the area really helps; and also you can buy special "heat pads" that stick to your tummy and are very discreet if you have to go to work.
Other than that; good old fashioned (!) paracetamol/painkillers.
