How do I make friends at an HBCU?

I went to a mostly white high school, and find myself embarrassing unable to talk to my black colleagues. I have been in school for almost two weeks, and I know few more people than my roommate. Any suggestions?

You make friends the same way you normally would anywhere else.A change in environment, doesn't change who you are.
