Great question!
Polygamy is illegal yet widespread in Mormon country - but you don't see the "traditional marriage" crowd raising a ruckus about it in Utah.
Why is that you ask? Because the traditional marriage mob isn't about traditional marriage - it's about hating gay people.

I don't believe in either but I also don't want anyone to be alone and I think love is hard to find so when you do you should take it. I would think the polygamy is the worse of the two and should be treated as such. Polygamy is exploiting some women who really don't want to be in that position but don't know how to get out. In a gay marriage at least they are both wanting it. But I guess to each his own.

We hear alot about gay couples wanting the same rights and benefits that straight couples enjoy; however I can't recall any pro-polygamy groups clamoring to add multiple spouses to their health insurance, etc. I think polygamists prefer to be left alone and do things their own way; they are not interested in bringing their lifestyle to the attention of mainstream society for acceptance. Perhaps polygamy is a case of "out of sight, out of mind" for the general public. If polygamists gathered together and began rallying for acceptance, benefits, and rights, the masses would probably feel just as threatened as they do by the gay population. I also have the notion that one man having many wives is somehow not as "taboo" to society as a same-sex relationship. Probably because multiple female partners is the secret fantasy of many a straight man!

1 thing they don't do is to try to have this taught in school as normal behavior
a long time ago Mormons use to practice polygamy then they passed the law and Mormons don't do it any more
some offshoots of the church still do they are not Mormons
but some people still call them that they hide in south Utah and Arizona there marriages aren't legal its the same as 1 guy having 20 girl friends and they don't care

I think that the fact that a guy who arranges polygamist marriages made it to the top of the FBI's most wanted list ahead of mass murderers and repeat offender child molesters means that maybe it has....

As long as the guy is sticking his penis into a vagina, it is O.K. No matter how many vaginae the penis visits at the same time... it is all good. The neo-cons can live with that. Actually ... deep down inside they are highly envy, but as soon as two guys live together in a committed, stable and loving relationship, the alarm bells ring and the society will come to an end as such.
I think the neo-cons are obsessed with anal sex. As soon as that happens between men, it is the deadliest sin of them all. As soon as the penetration happens to a women's behind it is nothing but a healthy sex life for them.

We are AT DEFCON ONE! LOL... Really funny question! I think that the religious zealots don't really see polygamy in their own communities the way they see GLBT people.
