I have a friend who was recently incarcerated, he is innocent, but I will not go into to much detail here.

I am curious to know though, if thier are any programs/support groups online for the falsely accused and thier families.

Knowledgable answers would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Jason.

I have a jail ministry so I do understand what your talking about , however your party should be able to file for an appeal . A state Representative in your state might be interested in helping you especially if your a voter. The really sad part of the whole deal is that there is big bucks in prisons now . Hotels have a 60% occupancy while prisons have a 200% occupancy,so if your investing in stocks your guaranteed a good return if you invest in prisons. Not to mention the fact that major companies hare them to work for as little as .50 cents to 1.00 an hour. One other source you might look into is your Internet punch in "prison + advocates" . Play with it a little and something will come up that will give you a little more info than what you have . One of the best things that I have ever found in these situations is prayer . Prayer always helps . I'll be praying for you and your Friend I know your hearting right now but as best you can give this to God . He understands how it feels to be falsely accused.

on what charge?,
Just because You believe he is falsely accused.. Doesn't mean the accusation isn't a valid one.

In the US one is innocent until proven guilty, that said, they had a right to counsel..

Somethings that there is less of a likelihood of the person getting out on bond for are sexual assault or threatening behavior or where there is a flight risk.

If your friend committed a sexual assault, and it is his word against hers, DNA requirements in SA cases are becoming the norm. Even so, consensual sex between adults can lead to charges if the woman "feels" violated.

The burden of proof is supposed to be on the state, or the person making the allegations, but for all intent and purpose the person in order to clear themselves much have corroborating eye witnesses..

In this country all are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty but the way it really goes is that you are guilty until proven innocent and nobody ever thinks that someone is innocent( in law enforcement). It is really hard once you have been found guilty to get it overturned but I wilh him luck.

Everyone is innocent. Should have had a better lawyer. sorry

Going to court without a Lawyer is like carrying a knife to gun fight.
