France, Germany, Russia and China all have too much of a vested interest in Iran to allow another of their trading partners to be invaded. Nothing will happen. The UN won't do anything because there are three members of the Security Council with veto power that cannot afford another Iraq.
It has less to do with are nukes OK, and more to do with money. The US isn't making any off Iran and the other nations are. Thats the same reason they were against Iraq.

From what I've read and understand, the U.N. Security Council, along with Germany, are hosting a meeting next week to settle this matter outside of sanctions. It's going to be a long and steady process, not happen overnight. Germany and the United States are working on a three-tiered sanction system that would come in phases.
First phase would include limiting travel restrictions on certain Iranian government officials, embargoes and trade sanctions. Along with eliminating Iran from receiving any nuclear related products.
Second would include freezing oversees assets for Iran, along with further travel restrictions.
Third would eliminate travel for any Iranian citizen, eliminate world banks from lending to Iran, and a few other sanctions.
These would could in phases over the course of a period of time. This of course, would only be plausible if Russia and China agree to these terms; if not, the United States suggests that each country imposes it's own sanctions. So, let's see how this unfolds.

Iran has every intention of developing Nuclear weapons..
All this UN negotiation has simply been a delaying tactic...
Hopefully the USA will make a pre-emptive military strike and destroy Irans nuclear facilities..
Unfortunately, I suspect the UN will fool around with nonsense sanctions and Iran will go ahead and develop nuclear weapons and then we face a nuclear bomb attack in the USA by either fanatical muslim terrorists supported by Iran or an attack by Islamofaschist Iran herself....Israel will be in extreme danger of being attacked by Irans nuclear weapons so she may be forced to make a pre-emptive military strike first and this will result in an all out Mid-east war which will require the USA to join in the war in aid to Israel.......And that is what is about to happen.....

Well, NoniNoni that is a very interesting question indeed. A couple of years ago after World War one the league of nations was created in the goal of keeping world peace. for example germany did not comply with the versaille treaty and what did they do Nothing at all, because they had no security. but now the UN is created there are many more countries in the leauge, and preventing nuclear war fare is a must priority. the UN to my oppinion may take action. which will result in warfare and may leek out to a global war i hop that doesn't happen though. but that is a thought provoking question.
